Member of North Sound Jr Football League!
The North Sound Junior Football League (NSJFL) is one of the premier youth football organizations
in the Pacific Northwest. We serve kids between the ages 5 to 14 throughout the North Puget Sound Region. We are dedicated to instructing young players in the safe and proper fundamentals of tackle football. The purpose of this organization is to provide an opportunity for every youth participant,
ages 5-14 to learn the game of football; while focusing on maximum community participation. Our
league sets itself apart by focusing on being closely aligned with our franchises High School
The NSJFL is comprised of 13 member organizations with close to 100 teams from the communites
of Arlington, Glacier Peak, Granite Falls, Kamiak, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Mariner, Marysville, Meadowdale, Monroe, Snohomish, Stanwood, and Sultan. The NSJFL has geographical boundaries,
which in most cases, are the same or similar to the local high school. Many NSJFL players go on to
play and star at local High schools, and some have even gone on to play in college. The NSJFL has
5 divisions of play: PEEWEE, 89ers, Juniors, Bantams and Seniors.
NSJFL's divisions are designed to limit the impact of a younger less physically matured children
being forced to participate with older more physically coordinated children which increases the
potential of injury. Mayo studies have proven the dated beliefs that co-efficient weight tables and modified age charts do not increase safety and in fact expose younger children to more risk for injury
than the older lighter player.
The Mayo study sites an old formula in its findings; force = mass x velocity. The number one
determining factor of speed and strength, is age maturity and not weight. NSJFL's play has proven
the early development model of the 5-7yr old division, then 8-9, 10-11, 12 & 13-14 has a distinct
and measurable advantage over other leagues that start later in age and divide based on weight.
Our programs are unique in its approach to teach the offensive & defensive systems, techniques,
and philosophies employed at the high schools systems in which we represent. This approach not
only ensures consistent development and growth from the youngest level to the incoming freshmen.
It gives our players the advantage over most kids that will attend High School not within the system
or starting the sport at a later age.
